rough drafts and scuffed paths

I will acknowledge , unpolished
I may tarnish the contents of the promise
with a collage of comments that demolish the very fabric
that established me as a maverick
with elaborate passages in immaculate labyrinths
the lavishness of the gift of gab is this
I persist to exist betwixt in the midst of margins
I’m large in the minuscule
I’ve been to school and fooled the masses
kiddo dittoed all the hall passes
laminated them in plastic
I failed classes intentionally
just so in detention they would mention me
I’m interesting like life sentencing
I’m innocent, however in this endeavor I’m guilty
filthy and raggedy
an American tragedy,
haphazardly,
life is passing me on the shoulder sipping diet cola soda
paraphrasing my folder
much less to write
it might be because I’m older and less conscious
I guess I’m sober with the intoxicants of logic-bent acknowledgements
I’ve built a tolerance to obnoxiousness and the nauseous spit
that sits on the back of the throat
burns like project perms
in the terms I quote from notes I wrote in my youth
when the juice of my fruit was produced reckless
my penmanship was a milestone necklace
dangling around my esophagus
it’s obvious the topic was whatever the optics loved
the prophets object was the inoculants buzz
the confidence in anything that never was
or is ever going to be
blindfolded, I was going to see the inside out
where sins hideout
men ride out the storm in disbelief
the distance is brief
but to diss this belief is where the tongue meets the cheek
and for whatever it’s worth
the meek inherits the earth
ash to ash and dust to dust we’re dispersed
poetic verses after verse
forgotten sermons after church
it’s not the pastor that it hurts
but it’s the pasture that was never birthed
because of a passage that never worked

When you get around to to it try to post on of your lyrical snippets in here. I'm not sure how that works yet or what we need to do because I have nothing to post
