she drew a roadmap to salvation on the inside of her thighs

and with the penlight of her eyes

I could almost see myself going to heaven

she disrobed her elegance

laid it on the dresser with her halo and wings

saying tonight she was no seraphim

she just wanted to be saved like all the rest...

damn the bouts of depression from trying to stave off damnation

knowing reality is so uncivil

made this union so much more savory

she denied any claims of her bravery

lumped any successes in with blind men hitting the sides of barns

she threw her life in the way of harm

and her body into my arms

her life story had begun long ago

and she had long since lost her page marker

she had once been daddy's little girl

but so many people called on her Father

she said there had been books and movies written in his honor

and at best

she was a citation or best key grip

her hands continued to slip and urge me to peruse

saying that what we call catastrophies

to them was more like the evening news

she saw all the earthquakes and tsunamis during her swing shift as guardian

and it often happened when she was worn out from partying

she had stock in 5hr shots

took 5 shots to the head

said the hard stuff only tickled her nose

she soaked it up with communion wafers when she couldnt find unleavened bread

more tired than tempting

feeling like she was so far past empty

or when she wasnt getting screwed over cleaning up folks' messes

her voice mail overrun with messages

celly ringing off the hook

couldnt stand the sound of trumpets and harps

she was into techno, dub and hip hop

her ringtone was the theme from south park

she explained why there were quakes in odd parts

she was playing twister

got off kilter while listening to ROCK THE WORLD by heltah skeltah

haha

that was her attempt at humor

and i was awestruck

plotting my attempt to soothe her

not that i could

or technically ever had

she juss needed to vent more than anything else

making love to a mortal is just the ruse that she told herself

she said it was just easier to wrap her hands around me as a person

than her mind around people

how could she admit that so much rest on her shoulders?

it seemed so much easier to throw it all away

as if a whirlwind of passion could blow it all away

but she had passion in spades

more than i could ever fathom to muster

and our rendezvous had become our own custom

but she proclaimed she was finished with it all

and she was ready to close the deal

close enough to feel forever on her breath

cartman's voice again grabs my ear

dutiful sorrow clouds her eyes

as she withdraws from her advance

suiting up again

preparing to disappear like steam from my hand

knowing our relationship is deeper than sexx
